Dedicated in memory of Jessica Haffer, the spirit and soul of Rainbow Delight
Rainbow Delight, located on historic Main Street in Garretson, SD, began in 1997 as Haffer Health and Gifts. Being "health nuts," owners Jeri and Keith Haffer wanted to provide education about healthy foods as well as reasonably-priced gifts, cards, and balloons for individuals in the community.
Merchandise was expanded over the years after travel, visits to other stores, and requests from customers, to where many unique items are now offered.
Haffer Health and Gifts was re-named to Rainbow Delight in 2007, and is a draw to the community and surrounding areas as well.
A note from Jeri:
Our daughter, Jessica, was the light and soul of Haffer Health and Gifts. She first suggested we name the store Rainbow-Delight, but being foolish adults, we did not. Jessica began working at Haffer Health and Gifts at the age of 8. She was an extraordinary people person who knew more about what people wanted than I did! She always seemed to find the right thing for the right person, and her gift-wrapping skills were amazing. She was not only involved with the store, but was also a part of school, band, a volunteer, and much more.
God called Jessii home on November 23,2003, and the spirit of this extraordinary child continues to live on in the soul of this store, which we re-named to Rainbow Delight (like she wanted) in 2007. We believe that just as Jessii loved all unconditionally, love is eternal. So many people, including our employees, have had "Jessii experiences" and we know she protects the store.
